time line and frame edge alignment

How do I get my frames to be exactly on the timed vertical dash line.
I used to be able to "S" (Split) right on the edge of the frame I wanted to split. Somehow the frames are out of alignment. The little black notch at the base of each frame is slightly off and leaves a portion of the frame attached to the next one....I cannot move it too match the alignment..
I am using VMS 12 64bit win7 . Finally No crashes.... !!! so far.......
Thanks.

Make sure you have the Options for Quantize to Frames, Enable Snapping, and Snap to Grid all enabled.

Note that if Quantize to Frames was off when you placed the clips on the timeline that they may have to be individually adjusted to match the project frame boundaries. Turning on Quantize to Frames doesn't automatically fix clips that are already on the timeline.

In addition to doing these things before adding media to the timeline, make sure your project frame rate matches your media. A common mistake is putting 30fps media in a 29.97 project.
