Subject:recording dies after 17 minutes

on a 23 Gb free recording drive, sound forge 5 decides to die after about 17 minutes claiming "you don't have enough space left on drive"... then the button images no longer load, and widnows slowly dies. (windows 2000)

is this a known issue, or am I the first to encounter this? I had to move back to 4.5 to do my recording.
