Two nasty VV3 bugs... anyone confirm?

First... I absolutely cannot do a "Render As" using the MainConcept MPG Encoder. I get a crash within seconds of every attempt. WinXP points to the encoder as being at fault.

Secondly... and this only occurs on some particular files... if I click anywhere in the timeline during playback to start playback from a new location, VV3 locks up every time. I'm trying to narrow down what about these files is causing this.

Okay... I figured out the second one. I had a DirectiXer-wrapped VST plugin on the main buss. Apparently there is an incompatibility between DirectiXer and VV3.

We haven't seen this "Render As" crash. It sounds like potentially a corrupt install. I'd recommend uninstalling, re-downloading and re-installing VV3. If the problem still exists, can you please provide as many details as possible about this crash? First, the exact steps you do to create it and second, all the messages and details that WinXP provides about the crash.

What VST plug were you using to get the crash?

I have a similar problem, when I "Render As" using the MainConcept MPG Encoder, with the progresive scan option, the system crash.

I'm running Windows XP Pro. Similar problem that the Main Concept MPEG-2 encoder will not encode progressive video. Under XP, I don't crash, just get a message saying an error occurred but cause can not be determined.

I've submitted a not to support@sonicfoundry.com.

We have identified the problem with rendering MPEG2 files with progressive field order. A fix will be included with the next update.

It doesn't matter. Any plugin I wrap with DirectiXer. I've contacted DirectiXer's author.
