Venom, I have two questions for you: 1. What's the exact version number of Acid you're using? (2.0a, 2.0b, etc) 2. Are you loading/playing the loop from a sample CD or from your hard disk? Get back to us with that info and we'll continue this discussion. Regards, Nick LaMartina |

One thing i saw you mention was that you have 20 tracks in this song and you haven't used that many before. Keep in mind that as you add more tracks, the total volume level of your song will increase. Loops are often recorded at nearly full volume, and if you add more than a few that play simultaneously they can create an output level greater than 0dB. Anthing above this 0dB level will be distortion. Have you reduced the volume of all your individual tracks? Watch the output level meters while your song plays. If you see them up in the red zone a lot then you're probably hitting some distortion. Reduce all of the track levels the same amount (maybe 6dB to start with) and see if that helps. You will probably have to reduce the track volume levels by about 2dB for every simultaneous track playing. If you have 20 tracks, but never have more than 6 going at once, then you may have to try a reduction of 12dB. This of course varies greatly depending on how loud each loop is recorded, and what the loop contains; but it could be a good starting point. |

with the song loaded i can play this track (full loop 14) by it self and its still distorted on the high end ( cimbles crashes ect ect ) -db levals are all good when the full track is played. ( not spiking in the red ) and its only in this song other songs with this track the high end is clear. also i dont think its a hard ware problem ( sound card ect ect ) cause win amp, and other sorces of sound are clear every where. thank you for the heads up tho Venom |

Venom, I already knew you were playing the tracks from memory (as that's how Acid works). I should have been more clear. Have you loaded the tracks from a CD-ROM or hard disk? The reason I ask is that users experience static noise when a particularly long or complex loop is loaded off a CD-ROM. Try copying the naughty files to your hard disk and see if that fixes it. Hope this helps, Nick LaMartina |

ya..its unfortunate when you save a file and you leave one thing out like output level and it gets saved at to high of a peak...even though you drop the level of the file it was still saved preveously incorrectly...cant go back and fix that...part of the music game, just like when i hear people trying to remove vocals from a stereo track.....its not possible,it sounds like you saved the file previously with the output to high |
