Greetings:

What kind of audio card would you guys recommend
for a laptop computer running XP? Or ... is
it better to stick with Windows 2000?

I'd like to put Acid 3.0 on my desktop Windows
2000 box and my SONY VAIO XP laptop.

Any recommendations for a good budget soundcard
for the desktop and laptop?

I can't exactly help you on the laptop issue, but you might want to check out my post on suggested inexpensive yet professional soundcard choices. (I believe Echo has a laptop solution too, but it's expensive.)

How about the currently out (and rumored to be out soon) USB soundcards?

This would seem to be a good laptop solution.

I'm looking for this as well.
