Hello, Simple question, I hope someone can answer. I have Acid Pro 5, which won't work with Windows 7. Got alot of song files done in Acid Pro 5 and some done with the demo of Acid Pro 7. If I buy the Acid pro 7 update all files will work, but can I use those files in Music studio if I go with that instead? Also is Music studio rewire compatible ? Sorry if this seems a silly question. Hope someone can help. Thanks Message last edited on11/27/2012 4:27:32 AM byWith the wave54. |

You can't open .acd files in anything other than ACID. However, you can render your ACID projects to .wav files and then use these in Vegas. I don't know for sure about rewire, but i suspect ACID is the only SCS product that supports it. Take a look at VirtualBox : http://www.virtualbox.org This allows you to create a virtual computer inside your Windows 7 computer and install whatever OS you'd like, such as Windows XP. You can then have 7 and XP both running at the same time and use XP to run your old ACID version. |

Music Studio opens .acd files. I have Music Studio 8. With that being said, it may not handle enhancments available in Acid Pro. Mike |

ACID Pro is still the only version of ACID that can do ReWire (amongst other things; see the comparison chart here. |

Thank you all for your replies, You've been very helpful and it's most appreciated. I've gone and ordered the Acid Pro 7 update. I must be mad, considering the lack of support, They've charged me an arm and a leg for shipping too. I can understand the general air of frustration here. I'd like to have just exported all my acid stuff to a different platform and called it a day, but I'll see how I get on with 7. Thanks for the tip on 'Virtualbox'. Yes, I had considered using something like that but I'm probably not technical enough to cope with different operating systems running on the same machine and i don't thing I could have run Acid 5 in XP and rewired it into Reason running on Windows 7. Dear me, why is it always so complicated ! Thanks again for all your help. |

Just curious, but is there any reason you didn't order the download version? It's cheaper and there is no shipping charge. |
