How will this work with Vegas 12? In shooting wedding video you often encounter some noise you would like not to have. Can you edit the video without losing the sync with audio?

SpectraLayers is not a plugin - it is a standalone application!
Therefore you need to open your original audio file in SpectrLayers; if your original audio is not in a format that SpectraLayers reads, simply use Vegas "Render" to make a suitable file of the noisy section.
Sync: you have to look after that yourself.
(In an ideal world, Vegas would render timestamped (BWF) WAV files, and SpectraLayers would retain the timestamp when saving..... then sync would be a no-brainer)

Just define SpectraLayers.exe as your audio editor in Vegas settings.
Then within Vegas, right click on the audio sample you want to edit (timeline), and select Edit a copy in audio editor.
This will launch SpectraLayers. When done, just quit SpectraLayers by accepting the modifications and it will automatically be integrated back in Vegas.

See SpectraLayers documentation for mire info.

I'd say:" in a so-called ''Pro'' world, Vegas would render...."
