Made a body outline become black - sort of Simpson

I know I have done this before but not sure what FX I should use ...

I am doing a simpsons-esque kind of scene - where someone runs into a wall and then it "sort of" looks like he made a hole right through.

I am NOT looking for realistic - just the idea. In fact is just the person against the wall would just turn black that is enough for me .

looking for an effect that will just have that person turn into a black mask?

You could do it with the Vegas chromakeyer except that the wall color is too close to the skin color. Can you reshoot against a different wall, or better yet against a green screen?

If the shot is static or the end shot of a scene, post a .png and I can see if my object remover tool in paintshop pro can create a transparent hole of the outline.

Here's a quick punch out of the outline. It's actuall a .png w/ transparent alpha but not sure if photbucket keeps the alpa.

The skin tones and the wall are very close so the program had a hard time w/ those areas.

You could use a bezier mask in Vegas to cut out the person and replace him with any video you want.

The technique is described at the end of this tutorial.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions .... as I was rushed .. I took the last frame made it a jpg and then in photoshop used the "magic" extractor ...

yeah - the colors were too close
