hey doods/doodets, i'm only just getting into Acid Music afta i found the old full version of Acid 1.0 in a drawer. I'm managing okay, but i can't 'chop' or create 'stutters'. I know it's possible 'cause i've heard it in a couple of songs (demo's on the CD) and I've got a pic of it here, incase it's very different to what you remember:

I know it can be done really easy in 3.0 but for the life of me i can't work out how to do it in this ancient version! I've been through the manual and I can't find out how to do it! I desperately need some assistance. it would be greatly appreciated.

You probably would want to use the Pencil Tool and draw out an event. Then adjust the event as necessary by dragging the end points of the event. Then simply copy the event by holding down CTRL and dragging the event to the desired location.

You're right, though. The Chopper (only in ACID Pro 3) lets you select a portion of a loop and insert it into the track as you see fit. You can easily create stutters and such this way. Much easier and more creatively inspired.

Hello,
Experiment with splitting the loops at the cursor, place the cursor on the loop where you want to chop it and right click and select split at cursor and make sure snapping is turned off. You can split the loops as many times as you like, After you get some pieces of loops organized the way you want them, it's easier to copy and paste from that point. One other note, you can overlap loops too but again snapping has to be turned off to line them up right. Also sometimes it helps to zoom in very close when lineing up the pieces.

See ya, Rockit
