Right Click with your mouse onto your cassette player and select "Save As". This will open the download option. Select a location on your hard drive and begin your download. Download time will depend on your internet connection. You might want to make sure you have a cable connection, plugged into the audio outputs of your cassette player, because a typical phone line connection will take you forever to download an entire cassette. Plus your audio fidelity will be lost because of bandwidth, due to such a slow connection.

Good luck,
Look for further information on recording audio under the help menu.

First, check that under your software sound mixer (the speaker under the system tray) that the *recording* input is line-in: that is, under recording options, make sure your mixer is using the line-in as the recording source.

Having the line-in just turned on under the sound mixer will not enable recording from that input.

If you can hear the music from your pc speakers, I think you have the volume up high enough on the cassette deck, so that shouldn't be a worry.

Also, if your line-in is selected under the recording options of your mixer, make sure the recording level is up and not sitting at zero. Set your slider/dial to half-way, then use the monitoring option under soundforge's recording panel to see whether your are getting a signal, and if you are, adjust the recording level until the monitor peaks at about -6 dB.

Hope this helps,

Miguel
