I just tried to open three different types, no luck. The only way I have ever been able to extract audio from mpeg files is to open them in Premier 5.1 or 6 (Vegas Video might work too...) then export the audio from the timeline as a wave file. Mpeg1 is a distribution format and was never intended for editing. If you go to codec central you will see how the keyframes and other stuff work together to make MPEG1 files so small. |

The ebil WareZ community has produced a lot of interesting programs, and you should easily find yourself a program that splits and mpeg stream into a video and a sound file. I can't remember a name of one but I'm sure you'll have no promblems finding one. Jón Hallur |
