Seems so odd, they repeatedly go through update fails over and over, version to version.

Hi Erni,

I tried putting mine, then let Ultimate S Pro - Photo Montage do the job, and plays without any issues...
Do you do pan/crop manually?

I've had the same problem with all versions of Vegas 12. If I disable the GPU, everything works as it should. (I suspect I have an AMD driver problem)

The music are an wav by ripped CD.

The jpg are 3000x2000 or minus.

The pancrop are manually in some, with Vegasaur in others.

The nVidia driver are the last beta.

But the problem, I think, are the combination of source material, GPU and driver version. The possible combinations are near infinite, and it's very hard to programers work with. Patience and goo luck.

GPU off and Dynamic Ram Preview = 0?

Well, I reinstalled the 394.

And then disabled the Aero desktop.

Work fine now :)

It's a crazy era...

Erni (and sorry for my english)

@Erni

Thanks, I guess... :) ATI drivers issues with VP had me convinced to swap to Nvidia. Still may switch, but from your post that brand's not immune to VP problems either.

Oh well... later today I'll do a partition image backup & see what surprises 394 holds.

Switching to Nvidia is definitely not a cure

Curious - which AMD card do you have (I have the Radeon HD6870)? Works fine with both builds of Vegas 12 EXCEPT when I attempt to render to a 720x480 ws File (60i). I can do these DVD renders with my display card turned off, but if I turn it on it will render for a few minutes & then get stuck or freezes. Do you have the same problem or different?

Basically having the same problems. :(

I'm running a Sapphire brand ATI 6870, on an Intel board with an i7 2600K & Virtu. **When** it all works it's nice -- the Intel quick sync can help with things like ffdshow for decoding, & adds a few fps to encoding sometimes in VP, even though the 6870 is pulling much more of the load [26% - 50% per MSI Afterburner]. [Use Afterburner to enable a cooling fan curve -- that GPU can get HOT]

AMD is cutting back though, including *I Think* on their driver developers, plus some of their video stuff from win7 doesn't apparently work in win8, so they're changing stuff around & eliminating some of it so they can still have only one setup download for win7 & 8. My problems 1st started with Cat 12.9 Beta, where I couldn't render DVD video at all in VP 11 32 or 64. Restored a backup & was cool until I tried 12.10, which broke that mpg2 encoding in VP 11 64, but not 32.

I had been thinking of buying 12, weighing whether to do it in October or next spring when the kinks were [hopefully] fewer, but when the 12 trial didn't crash I went ahead & bought so I could render from a 64 bit version. Later today I'll have to find out where this update makes or breaks anything -- I'm a bit anxious for Sony to fix their MC AVC Blu-Ray template/encoder, since it's faster than Sony's, but for me produces non-Blu-Ray AVC with GPU accel on, & it's a dog without it. If mpg2 doesn't work I'll try the 12.11 Beta driver set -- nothing to lose at that point -- & restore the image backup as/if need be to put things back. With ATI you Don't want to try going backwards if you can avoid it, & the restore should only take about 1/2 hour so not too much risk.

Far as trouble shooting, tried everything I could think of short of wading though huge Process Monitor logs... it's amazing how much is going on in Windows just sitting there, & I can't express how much I dread the thought of going through 1/2 hour's worth of log [how long it took for the last freeze up] . No error reports anywhere, nothing obvious showing up in Process Explorer, including threads, & no help disabling anything I could disable. Turning off GPU accel in VP &/or the encoder haven't helped, neither has disabling all codecs, neither has disabling all the ATI files in the 2 Common Files folders, neither has disabling Intel graphics &/or Virtu etc...
