I see that Windows 8 is now included in the system requirements for Sound Forge Pro 10, but it's been problematic here during a Windows 7 to Windows 8 upgrade (not clean install). On my desktop PC, it seemed to survive the transition, worked for a while, and then refused to start. A reinstall was required, and now it won't activate. Since I can't use it on the desktop at the moment, I tried it on the notebook. Same result. Have you managed to successfully run it on Windows 8 without a reinstall? Curiously, Vegas Pro 8 is working like a champ. Thanks, Scott |

Scott I'd contact tech support. They will not be quick with a response... But a response is needed none the less. Thanks for letting us know scs is advertising as Windows 8 compatible. Looks like they claim all their PC products are now. Message last edited on10/29/2012 12:24:13 PM by519tbarr. |

I ran a program from Microsoft before I migrated (not sure I would call Windows 8 an upgrade from Windows 7). The program reviewed my software/hardware configuration, and said that a re-install of Sound Forge Pro 10 would be necessary after Windows 8 was installed. As you mentioned, Vegas Pro 10 has no issues. BTW the only other software that it listed as incompatible was CorelDraw X5. the core programs: Draw & Photo-Paint seem to work in Compatibility mode, the screen capture utility doesn't. |
