Been keeping my eyes on this site? Is this a new Sony product or is it not? Drop 4 is released, Audio Editing Redefined. Shows the famous drop down sony time/ruler section with included fps for video editing!!! (good stuff) (question is OMF supported?) Shows a dedicated editor window, catch word is "You got it" if you look slowly through the video. Shows plugin list... Izotope and some kind of Guitar Amp simulation... Big question still is this just an audio editor? Or is this a full blown DAW? Im hoping for full blown DAW! Very interesting! Message last edited on8/1/2012 1:24:36 PM by519tbarr. |

I'm assuming that when they say, "Audio Editing Redefined," they mean it's an audio editor. I saw nothing relating to multitracking (at least on the DAW-level). ;) |

Mmm...looks similar but SpectraLayers was already released. They have yet to reveal all the drops so I'm assuming a yet-unreleased product. |

This is Forge. You can clearly see the interface if you step thru the 4th video frame by frame. One thing for sure - it's not Acid. VP Message last edited on8/2/2012 3:04:56 PM byVocalpoint. |

Whatever the finallyonthemac thing is it is definitely a new Sony product. If you go back 2 drops on that site, you will see a guy in the vid sitting on the floor with his guitar les paul copy recording a track on this new program. The same video shot of this guy is in one of the new videos for Acid Music Studio 9. (i know this because I just bought the program last night and watched the video.) So we know now for sure that finallyonthemac.com is Sony, so Sony!!! What's the program??? And will there be a Windows Version? |

Like I said - It's Forge - possibly finally joining the 90's and adding multitrack editing is all. I wouldn't put any stock in what you see people doing in the video as being exactly what you get with the mystery product. For the record - I have recorded my guitars into Forge on countless occasions for many reasons. It's obvious too that if they are using the phrase "Finally On The Mac" as the central hype mechanism for this gag - stands to reason that "finally" means something that was Windows only (accent on "was" meaning around for a while)...is coming to the Mac. It does not imply something new. Finally - this whole thing revolves heavily around "audio editing" meaning it's definitely an editor - something that Acid could never do. VP |

Begs to ask the question??? PC version??? I'm assuming that Sound Forge Pro for the Mac will be version 1.0 (but essentially will have most of the features Sound Forge Pro 10 for the PC has). Message last edited on8/22/2012 2:13:41 PM byIacobus. |

A true Sony product, i.e. from the Sonic Foundry days, ported over to OS X ! A not so small step for Sony ( a shitload of work ) , a giant step for musicians of all kinds. Bravo ! Cheers |

Wow! PC customer base begging for some attention on their dormant pc software. All the while the PC platform expanding by leaps and bounds. And low and behold, they are developing for the mac?! It's like running for a touchdown running the wrong way! At least we know now why we never get responses from SCS. They have been hangin' out with the mac forums. |
