V12 Multicam external monitor slow frame rate

DonS35 wrote on 10/28/2012, 1:08 PM
In V12, set up and enable a multicam track and select "Show Full Frame in External Monitor" from Tools>Multicamera. The monitor frame rate drops to 3-4 frames/sec. Without the external monitor enabled, I get the full frame rate. For the same project in V11, the multicam in external monitor displays at full frame rate.
I find this feature very useful. Anyone else having this? Any way to fix it?

What are you using for your external monitor and what format is your source material?

I get zero fps playback on external monitor just trying to view normal footage, not to talk about multicam. On preview window I get full 25fps. If I drag the preview window to 2nd screen it plays normal but if I enable "external monitor" there's no playback at all.

Running V10 on Dell Precision M4400 and Dell 21" full HD as 2nd screen. Editing Sony FS700 avchd files.

I have a standard DVI monitor connected to the second output of my NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti graphics card. I get the slow frame rate in V12 regardless of whether the card is enabled in Vegas or not, and only with multicam editing enabled. With multicam disabled, external monitor displays with full frame rate.
This behavior is only in V12. V11 does not show this problem.

I had this problem with the latest driver. I installed an earlier driver 2??.?? and it works though still a bit under par.

This is a known issue/bug; please set the RAM preview to ZERO and you'll be able to use the external monitor for the current take full screen.

Setting RAM preview to zero does not fix the problem. It displays the current take full screen, but at 2-4 frames/sec.

I know I'm reviving an old thread but I thought I'd just chuck in for anyone else that might of been having this issue and stumbled upon this. I'm on Vegas 12.486 and setting the Dynamic RAM preview down to ZERO did fix the issue for me.

I'm on Win7, with a Radeon HD7850 on Catalyst 13.3 Beta (Although I'd rolled back through serveral version to try and find a fix for this - nothing worked until I found this!).
