script needed - batch render

Hey Everyone -
I have a good Batch render script which gives me all sorts of options with a nice UI. What I've found is that most of the time I create the same parameters for the script and run it. It's more time consuming than it needs to be. I'd like to simplify it and have a script that does the following:
1) render all regions in project to a specified file format numbering the regions sequentially (01.wav, 02.wav, etc)
2) render all regions in the project using the names the regions already have to a specified file format.

All I would have to do when I launch the script is select a destination directory, nothing more.

this way I could have scripts called "render to 44.1 16bit stereo wav", "render to 128 mono mp3", etc. etc.

make sense? would someone be willing to do this for me? would it help if I supplied the more complicated, more customizeable batch render script?

thanks in advance.
Charles.

While not free, maybe one of the new FASST Apps might do the job for you:

I have Ulitimate S, also a VASST product. It's my understanding that the new FASST Apps are a slice of Ultimate S. I cannot say this with certainty because I haven't tried the FASST Apps. But I do know that Ultimate S lets you set-up batch renders in various permutations, save that as a template, and repeat as needed.

The price point isn't bad on the FASST App -- $10 USD. A steal if it does the job for you.

Kimberly is correct. The Render Assistant FasstApp can do this for you (i.e., render regions with the region names as file names using any template you want) and a whole lot more for only $9.95 USD.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I will say off the bat it's an extremely confusing interface for setting up render formats and presets. I'll tinker with it more, but nothing works the way I would "expect" it to. I'm hoping it will render using the region names that I've added and not just a generic incremental name.

more testing to do...

man this is frustrating - I have a project with 388 regions and everytime I render it, it makes mistakes. It will simply skip one, or it will render one of them and just call it .wav

is there some trick to making this work flawlessly?

Send an email whatever support email they gave you in the product. I've always had fast reponse from VASST when I've had a question.

will do

He did and as it turns out, some of the regions had a name consisting of a single space. The way RenderAssistant works is that it will use the region name if there is one and in this case " " was a valid name so it created " .wav".

I have modified RenderAssistant to ignore region names that consist entirely of spaces so this won't happen again. A new version should be up on the Sony site in a few days but RenderAssistant was only doing what it was supposed to do (i.e., use the name if it wasn't blank)
