SOT: Hitfilm Ultimate 2 Bundled with Mocha

So I am starting to get more excited for the Hitfilm Ultimate 2 release and its interaction with Vegas pro 12.

Hitfilm has just announced that they are bundling Hitfilm Ultimate 2 with a version of Mocha specifically made for Hitfilm.

What this means is that you will have a full planer tracker that could be used for composting in hitfilm which then can be transferred back into Vegas. The possiblilities are endless.

I know that you can do this already with BBC7 or BCC8, but Hitfilm is about half the cost.

I am soon to be upgrading to both Hitfilm 2 and Vegas Pro 12 for less than the price of AE alone. If this works the way it looks it will, this will be awesome.

HitFilm 2 Ultimate does seem to be quite a package -- a very affordable package that does a lot built in: 3D compositing, apparently a very good chromakeyer unit, particle emitters, deflectors, etc, and the new version adds built-in support for importing and animating 3D models in the HitFilm compositing timeline, as well as the new Mocha camera solve module.

Note that the "Mocha for HitFilm" product is just the camera solve module -- not all the other stuff that the full Mocha Pro program does (rotoscoping, object removal, etc.) But it is included in the Hitfilm 2 Ultimate price.

Fxhome/HitFilm have announced integrated support for HitFilm projects on the Vegas Pro timeline. Apparently, operation is almost like having a nested veg file on your timeline: the HitFilm composite plays on the Vegas timeline just like any other media, but if you want to change something you right click (or something) and open in HitFilm, make your changes, and come right back to Vegas with an updated timeline.

An example of Vegas Pro integration is about halfway down the page. These examples are from pre-release (beta?) versions of the software.

I looked at the link and it looks pretty cool, especially being able to import 3D models. So you're saying people that have BCC8 already have these types of efx? I own it and I didn't know it could import 3D models, but then again I'll bet I don't know half the things BCC8 can do! But I do know it has an outstanding chroma key suite of tools.

Anyway, thanks for posting the link. I'm sure a lot of people will jump at this.

Hello,

I have BCC7 tracker and have checked also Mocha nad PFHoe. I think these tools are designed for different purposes. BCC7 is pixel tracking, Mocha is planar (in order to resolve task with corner pinning I would recommend Mocha, it gives excellent results) but PFHoe is the highest one : it can track in 3 dimensional environment.

I can remember, that in previous edition it was not possible to use it in standard version (for export and using of tracker was necessery to buy the highest option of hitfilm). Is situation the same with version 2 ?

best regards,
