Subject:Zooming on waveforrms

As someone who has owned Soundforge since well before Sony bought it up I went right out and purchased the Mac version without a trial. I am now amazed to find that I can't zoom in on individual waveforms - the + & - buttons are not there and I've searched the manual and this functionality isn't mentioned. Am I missing something or has Sony pulled a FCPX deal by releasing software that is really still in Beta?

Up and down arrow do this. You can also drag the edges in the overview bar to zoom of the visible region.

The mouse wheel and track pad gestures can be used to Zoom in and out.

Chapter 10 of the manual covers Magnification and Zooming in detail.

The Z index has two entries for Zooming as well.

A search in the on line help for zoom or magnification will also take you to the appropriate information.

I know I can zoom in with my mouse wheel, which is the way I always used to do it. Not sure if that works with Apple input devices (magic/mighty mouse or trackpad). The up and down arrows zoom in and out as well.

FYI, the + and - buttons don't do anything for me in SF for Windows, so maybe I'm not completely understanding what you're asking?

The Magic Mouse does the same as a mouse wheel with a single finger up down motion.

The track pad is two finger dragging up down.

Not the + and - keys on the keyboard, the + and - buttons on the lower right (for horizontal zoom) and upper left (for vertical zoom) of the waveform window of Sound Forge PC.

Thanks for the info about the mouse wheel.

Thanks for the help, I thought I looked through the manual thoroughly but I just totally missed it.
