In what aspect are these specs different than BWF ?
Metadata implementation maybe ? No time code management ?

Your question is not very clear.
WAV format supports 1-32 channels interleaved into one file.
BWF is simply a variety of WAV which contains a timestamp and ability to store some other user information.
