Okay we all know about the warts right out of the start gate on SF Pro Mac. No apparent Wave Hammer, Batch Converter, faulty demos for the Izotope plugs, etc. The other gripe I have is according to the requirements Snow Leopard isn't supported. My Mac music computer runs SL 10.6.8 and I have no reason to change to Lion or even Mountain Lion. Has anybody tried SF Pro Mac on SL? Is it even possible?

I'm assuming SF Pro Mac is a universal binary application which should theoretically run on SL.

Was really looking for a replacement for Bias Peak since the company is no more and DSP Quattro doesn't do the job for me. And wanted to go to a one computer studio and retire my dying old Windoze machine which I keep around just to run SF Pro 9.

Edit: just downloaded the demo and I can expand the demo from the .dmg and do an install if you will (the SF Pro icon has the international symbol for 'no' on it) but when I go to open SF Pro Mac it tells me I need 10.7 or 10.8. So at least I've got that answered. Not happy about it though. Why didn't SCS code it to run on SL 10.6.8?

Oh yeah - 64 bit only. Not all my plugs have 64 bit versions. Stuff like UAD dsp plugs are 32 bit only.

Good morning. Have you checked with UAD about 64-bit versions?

WRT Snow Leopard.

This choice was not made lightly.

We are using lion specific features that are not available on SL. There was no way to take advantage of the newest features of Lion or MLion and allow SL compatability. We also know how fast Apple changes and drops support for earlier versions. We also looked carefully at the adoption rate of Lion.

Basically we made a choice for a new code base that gave us the best overall integration with the current state of how Apple does things.

64 bit was done as this is where we believe the future is on OSX. One of the larger issues was legacy Carbon issues with VST plugins. Apple has depricated many of the Carbon UI aspects. This presented an area tha we just felt was introducing too many stability issues related to third party plugin support.

Yes I have and all they say is that they are working on it; won't give a timetable. Also not every daw is 64 bit; ProTools isn't and won't be until PT11 (whenever that comes out).
