vegas 12 pro

Hello,
I have just migrated to 12 Pro and find that the video keeps freezing during playback from the edited timeline. The audio does not freeze and continues to play.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks
JohnJ

Yeah ... I had that problem .... it went away after I disabled the GPU. (Radeon HD6870)

Exact same problem as you Johnj, disabling gpu and V12 is stable, might not be the best fix but it does seem that are still problems with the gpu enabled.

gts450 nvidia with 306.23 driver

But if I bought 11 and 12 (re: stayed with Vegas) for the GPU acceleration, and need to turn it off, then I may as well use 10 or migrate to something else. No GPU isn't a fix...it needs to be fixed (sorry to sound so cranky - I just find it bizarre that we're willing to cripple Vegas as an alternative to it functioning as promised).

Gpu is fine for me. Gtx550ti nvidia 296.10 drivers. All works fine including newblue titles.
Latest drivers caused crashes with newblue. Rolled back to the older ones and evetything is great.

Thanks to point this out fordie, I will roll back and give it a try

just upgraded to a 560 ti 448 cuda core Gpu.
installed 296.10 drivers.

so far everything fine. however on first opening Vegas 12 it crashed at the load up screen ( gpu initializing) . re started vegas and It now opens fine and runs well , with no obvious problems.

Same here except I have the 560 ti and that Vegas 11 works even better than Vegas 12 with or without the latest drivers. Vegas 12 works only with the 296.10 and lower drivers on my system.

Renders are an average of 28% faster with Vegas 11.

Of course if Vegas 11 is broke on your system then Vegas 12 would be the better choice.

SV12 working fine with Nvidia GTX 560 with 306.23 drivers.

BTW where do you disable the GPU acceleration?

My experience with 12 so far is sterling. i7-950 with a GTX 560ti, driver 296.10. Renders with CUDA are faster than V11: a 23 second clip with two tracks of Sony Chromakey and 1 track of still background:

V11 with GPU 47 seconds
V12 CPU only (look at the encode option at the bottom of the Internet 1080p template) 70 seconds.
V12 with CUDA 36 seconds.

If you are using the Internet 1080p template for MC MP4, remember that V12 comes with CPU Only as the default option. That had me fooled for awhile.

No crashes.

Edit addition: V12 also previews this project at Best Half at pretty much full frame rate 29.970. V11 I have to get down to Preview Auto to get it to run at full frame rate.

I just did some more tests.

Vegas 11 701 build is 8% faster on renders with 296.10 drivers than with the latest drivers.

Also more stable.

Latest drivers are apparently not good at all for Vegas 12 and slower with Vegas 11.

Installed 296.10 drivers and this was my best experience with V12 so far, still needs testing but looking better.

I haven't managed to crash it..... while with 306.23 driver it would crash so easily.

But if you open 2 intances of V12 side by side, it is very unstable and will crash unless you have GPU OFF.
