Crash on exit

Sony Support Team confirms that Vegas Pro 11.0 has a crashing bug on exit in certain situations. Unfortunately, though they’re aware of the problem, they haven’t been able to track it down and fix it.
It will unfortunately be present in the next version of Vegas Pro.

It’s not destructive to the project or settings.

I've experienced this randomly upon occasion with various versions. I always save the project under its old name and than save it again with a sequential number. A couple times the veg that was closing became fubar so the duplicate of saving at the same point saved my but.

I found that sometimes on Win 7, if you right click the icon for VP11 and open up the properties box, changing the environment (eg XP) it runs under stopped it crashing on exit.

The "Icon" is the a shortcut on your desktop many people choose to have during software installation. This is not always installed by default. You may find the menu item found by opening the start button can be used for the same purpose.

I'd suggest with version 11, any crash on exit might be caused by the computer not clearing out RAM it has flaged as being used rather than Sony's software. Generally speaking it is safe to ignore these error messages if your PC otherwise runs properly.

You might also find that waiting a few moments after saving the file you were working on instead of using the "X" in the top, right corner of the active window to close the program might stop this problem from happening.
