Vegas pro 12 review

Ok I had to switch over to adobe prmier cs6 to get my projects out the window because vegas pro 11 was just like working on a stuttering old machine. That machine is a i7 with all the latest bells and whistles and runs ppcs6 flawless with not one stutter.
So today I get the download of vegas pro 12 and wonder if this is even worth my time to try my old friend from many years.
Well I did.
I tried all the dslr footage that stuttered and slowed upon a simple crossfade and the star fx that would grind the machine to a 2 frame showcase and to my surprise?
It works.
Works really well. As smooth as my ppcs6 that I had to run to.
Clips run smooth right out of the camera and the old star fx (since it was a pig for vegas to run) transitioned and ran the clip with no dropped frames at best half.
Wow!!
So I decided I would install on another machine to see if I could be dissapointed?
Works spot on as well.
Sony has finally found the grail! I am so happy that my good old friend has been brought back to life. I believe Sony was looking to be apart of the whole adobe game and make sure they were able to cross feed to ppcs6, final cut, etc. Only makes sense.

I am happy to say thank you Sony for the hard work and making this the start of a great product again. P.s. I wish I could take my money back for Vegas pro 11 and use it towards 12. Since it was a bust for us LOL. I can't have everything I guess.
Great work guys and gals!!!

You can sell your VP11 license and use that money toward the upgrade to 12. The new owner can not use it to upgrade though.

Hello David17,
Would you be so kind if you have some time to do this test for us forum members...I have copied from my request in another thread.
Thanks, and glad to hear of your success thus far.

Would someone who is an early adopter please be willing to test the new feature of VegasPro12 NLE being used to create a timeline and exporting to Adobe Premiere.

I am learning that this export feature only works on a PC where both SCS VegasPro12 and Adobe Premiere CS6.6 are simultaneously installed and they are both open as two different apps. Is this how it works? Create a timeline and save as .veg file in SCS and then switch to live export to Adobe?

Export xxx.prproj with Vegas Pro 12.

Open xxx.prproj with Premiere Pro CS6.

No need both open neither in the same pc.

Works fine.

Thanks Erni,
This is very good news- that you have produced a transportable project out of VegasPro12 - with this kind of versatility SCS brings Vegas back to the professional community of users.

anybody try the adobe premiere after fx import export feature yet? I tried the trial but all it does is import files and asks for a file that doesn't even exist to be located

Looks to me that Sony is joining Microsoft and Star Trek in their "every second release will likely be bad" cycle.

How does one go about selling older licensed versions? I have a bunch.

Under "My Account," "My Support," "Ask A Question." Select the product you wish to transfer. "Category" is "Activation" and "License Transfers" is one of the options.

You may want to find a buyer before doing this, because they need his or her contact information to complete the transfer.

Heh, I might feel a little guilty doing that. I only used 11 for a couple of projects for the entire release cycle, but I knew it was going to be that way, it, was the first release with GPU accelerated preview, and a big change like that, first release is always a problem. 10 served me well though, and now so will 12 I think.

When you open a rendered project in DVD Architect are your chapters still there?
