>For those wanting to move on- PLEASE use the DO Studio line from SCS.
Funny--I'm on Sony's mailing list and yet your post is the first I heard of this. Unless SCS somehow knew in advance that there's "no way" a $3000 minimum (Indie) authoring program was going to be of interest to me personally!
Do Studio?
First I've heard about this, maybe the news travels slowly to Europe. Reading the DO Studio webpages briefly it seems they are supporting only BlueRay and 3D as well - yet my own 3D TV will not be suitable as it uses polarised glasses . . . surely this is a mistake so early on as there are plenty of TV's that can display very good 3D - provided the spacing controls aren't exagerated everyone wiins.
[ BTW - how long does a 3D BD disc run for? - PAL/50Hz]
It will be a sad day when the likes of Sony abandons a software that's been part of their suite for many years . . . is this Official yet? - and how do folks burn DVDs for their less-techy friends - who can't play BlueRays.
What would be really neat - if the new software could "Copyright" each disc, so your work can't be replicated - you know, you've slaved over a Wedding and done a lovely Edit and the Bride orders three - you just know someone's going to burn a few extras soon enough.
Sony Creative Software News March 2012 announced the availability of DoStudio software, also to us Europeans on their mailing list, Harry :).
I have not seen SCS announce the discontinuation of DVDArchitecht/s.
AFAIK the bundled version of DVD Architect Pro latest version will ONLY continue to be available as part of the "bundle" in the full version of Sony VegasPro 12 Creative Suite through the year 2013.
Hey, videoITguy, why do you keep saying "Creative Suite"? Where did you get that phrase from? Who made it up? It would probably be better if you stopped confusing people by using those words. There is no such Vegas product with "Creative Suite" in the name.
