Subject:cannot get the CD info window out of full screen

I accidentally double clicked on the top of the metadata CD info window and it expanded to the width of the screen. There is no unmaximize box to restore it to its normal size and if I try to move in the sides they jump back to full screen size. How do I get back to the normal size of the window.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that did not work. This is version 10.c. I haven't tried installing the original version 10 without the updates followed by the 10.c update. Is that necessary?

Did you try double click on the top of the metadata CD info window?

Yes I tried double clicking on the top. The Value just sorts up and down. If I try double clicking at the top edge the whole box disappears. I can recover the box via view/metadata/cd information but it is still full sized.

I just tried going back to the original version 10.0 then updating to 10.0 c, but the uninstall process keeps the registration and settings information so that did not help.

While in the full window, try Alt+Spacebar. What do you see there?

Try dragging the boarder or header (row of dots) to re-size or un-dock the window. Try closing, and reopening. "View> Metadata> CD information"

When I try alt spacebar I get a box with choices: restore, minimize or close. Unfortunately the actions are not for the CD info section, but the whole sound forge window. The CD info covers half of the screen from top to bottom and the whole screen from side to side. Alt spacebar does not affect it.

If I try dragging the boarder or header (row of dots) the whole window moves to the right but usually moves back to stretch from side to side. Sometimes the window transforms to a box covering half of the width but all of the height. When this happens the window with the sound form shrinks to fit next to the cd info box. If the info box fills half the lower screen you can adjust the height, but not the width. If the info box covers the left half of the screen from top to bottom you can change the width but not the height.

Sony customer service gave me their solution which works. It resets all your settings so make sure you save your presets before using it. Here it is:

To reset all preferences, settings and window placement back to their original state, close the program. Then hold down the Ctrl & Shift keys when you start it again. When the program starts to load, you will see a window that asks: Do you want to reset all <Program Name> preferences to default values? To fully reset all defaults, make sure that 'Delete all cached application data' is checked. Then choose Yes.
