I am splicing audio files together for a phone tree. I am saving in CCiTT U-Law, 8bit, mono and each file that i save ends with .12sec of static at the end. How do I eliminate this? |

This can sometimes get tricky with u-laws in Sound Forge. The first thing to try is to go to Options-->Preferences-->General and make sure the, "Ignore fact chunk when opening compressed Wave files" box is UNCHECKED. Rob. |

Try a very short fade-to-zero at the end of each section. Ending a file at a high instantaneous value will do all sorts of things to different replay devices. geoff |

Geoff, this probably won't work, since the static is typically misinterpreted header information, and not actually audio. It will seem to reappear after every save. Rob. |

This is exactly the problem I was having with ADPCM files. This solved the problem and fixed the timing issue as well. Thanks. |
