Subject:I want to make all tracks same volume

I have worked with sony acid 5 and 8 for years to make fitness mixes for my aerobics classes, but I always have trouble getting the tracks to come out with all the same volume ( so I end up with a mix where some songs are louder than others). Does anyone know how to make them all the same volume? Thank you! |

I'm not sure which version started to have the ability to use the "normalize" switch on events but in the latest versions of ACID, you can do just that. ON EDIT: You right-click the event on the timeline in question > Event Clip (Name of clip) > Normalize. Message last edited on8/23/2012 5:20:17 PM byIacobus. |

Although normalize alone isn't guaranteed to work. More dynamic tracks with louder peaks will end up sounding quieter than more even tracks. We might have to discuss compression, and manually tweaking volumes after that. |

Hi fitness4, I'm assuming most of your songs are in the MP3 format. What you need is a program called MP3 Gain. Then you click the "Downloads" link. This program works on all flavours of Windows including 64bit. Once your songs are processed just drop them into ACID make sure the volume fader is set to 0db for the track(s). I've used this program a lot and it really makes my mixed CD have the same loudness. Cheers, FTech |
