I take it from your last sentence that Music Studio 9 is not a 64x application, and installed into the Program Files (x86) folder? |

That is absolutely correct. At least that is where the demo downloaded to. |

Another oddity, i noticed my ram use icon in bottom right screen went from say 61/4,000mb to 61/1000mb after I installed Acid Music Studio 9 in. Another limitation is that you can not dump your individual tracks out one by one like you can do in Acid Pro 7. That feature I need on a regular basis when exporting projects. |

If this doesn't absolutely tell you that Acid Pro is history - I don't know what will. VP |

It may be history - Acid Pro is more than likely history as the software is 4 years old. As far as a DAW from Sony... If the finallyonthemac.com thing is real then i would guess that something new could be in the works. I still keep thinking a hybrid of Acid and Sound Forge. Studio One Pro 2 is good but I still keep going I wish it had this from Acid or I wish it had that as far as features are concerned. Sony would be silly to not have a DAW in its arsenal. It's just hard to see it being Acid Pro as we have known it especially due to the silence. Funny thing is in the new Acid Music Studio 9 if you import an Acid tag into it from Acid Pro 7 it still wants you to buy Acid Pro 7. It's mildly amazing that they are still marketing that old of a product. Having said that - Music Studio 9 runs much smoother on my computer than Acid Pro 7 and for a budget vs prosumer version that is a sad state of affairs. "If this doesn't absolutely tell you that Acid Pro is history - I don't know what will. VP" They better work faster then, because ACID Music Studio 9 still doesn't have important things like: -Post MIDI filtering -MIDI track freeze -Bus to bus -Envelope automation recording -Custom MIDI drum grids amongst other things others may find important. |

Agreed. The ability to not max out at 4gigs of ram would be nice as well. Also better plugin capability, improved smoothness of use. A design overhaul would be great but really I think for most of us here first priority is stability in the platform. |

Just found another downfall under the clip properties the ability to tighten loops to 16, 32nd, 64th and triplets is non-existant in Music Studio 9. |

I saw 24/96 and jumped on the upgrade. Then I tried to install and realized I should've read the requirements. 9 does not support XP and will not install to it. |

9 does not support XP and will not install to it. Makes complete sense that a vendor would not devote any resources or dev cycles to support XP here in 2012...considering it's mainstream phase out has been ongoing for years now... VP Message last edited on8/19/2012 4:05:47 PM byVocalpoint. |

Unfortunately this is the year software updates for XP cease from Microsoft. XP had a great run 2001 - 2012. |
