This may be an odd problem as I'm a newbie to this proggie, so bare with me. :-) A couple of days ago I received a mp3 of a tape-recording from one of my friends. He asked if I could patch up the sound as it was badly distorted/muffled. The tape had obviously been in very poor shape. The mp3-file contained a 35 minute audio-book with the occasional sound-effects. I started up my SF 5.0 and after trying out different effects, I stumbled upon "EQ" in the "Process" menu and used the "Graphic" function. I used the "Boost high frequencies above 7 kHz by 6 dB" preset as it perfectly removed all the muffled sound and gave a crisp clean sound. However during the "Preview" function I heard beeps occuring every 5 secs. in the sound. I thought this to be just a small glitch in the program and so I applied the process. But after doing this the beep sounds were still there! What is wrong here? Am I using the wrong tool for this kind of job? Please, anyone who might be able to help out here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Aze. |
