Subject:Is BWF chunk retained on "Save"

Since I cannot get the Trial working, and it does not Save anyway, does anybody know if the BWF chunk is retained when you "Save" or "Save As"?

I haven't verified this Christo, but it seems that SpectraLayers is kind of Vegas-like in that it doesn't mess with the files you import but does all its modifications in real time. I assume any metadata in the file is safe but I don't think any of it transfers to files that you render. I haven't seen any way to enter this kind of data in the program either.

I wonder if you can test this?:
I uploaded a timestamped .WAV to https://dl.dropbox.com/u/20465144/Mixdown%20%2301bwf.zip
maybe you could open in SpectraLayers and re-render to a slightly different name and give back to me; that way we see if the timestamp survives....

Hi Christo,

Here's the re-rendered file:

The re-rendered file doesn't maintain the original metadata, as I thought, because it is a new file. However, your original file remained unchanged, as best I can tell.

Thanks for that Doug.

Oh dear, seems the BWF Timestamp is indeed lost, which is a real shame for Post work where we rely on timestamps for sync.... means resultant file "worked on" by SpectraLayers must be manually re-synced.

iZotopeRX, and also most good pro DAWS, will retain BWF Timestamp for same input file even though the file is processed and renamed - that is the whole point of Timestamps!.

It would seem that Sony has a lot to do to bring this product to a mature state. Very promising though...
