Sound Forge coming to Mac?

Well, that's the biggest non-announcement I've ever seen. If it is, in fact, SF coming to the mac platform, I'll be curious to see if they handle the re-write better than Adobe did with Audition. So far, I've pretty much hated every wave editor Mac has to offer. The interface and functionality has to change so significantly that it negates anything I liked about the work flow in Windows (speaking of Audition primarily).

I'll tell you what though, the timing couldn't be better, as the corpse hasn't even gone cold on Bias Peak yet.

Very smart move by SCS,. Especially with the recent 'demise; of BIOS.
BUT, will this mean ALL there efforts will to the Mac platform. Instead of fixing what's already broken.
Do I see a trend here.. to pick up the disgruntled FCP refugees, with a Mac version of Vegas?

We all wait in anticipation, as well as speculation from the 'others' as to see if Vegas and Acid also port over??

It doesn't actually say anywhere that it's Sound Forge or any Sony Creative Software package. As with all other rumors, don't bet the farm on it until you have some provable facts.

anyone notice the type font sure looks like stuff sony would use?
also... for interest sake of guessing, don't the loops and mix sound like pre-packaged acid loops?

Just observing?
We could all be wrong, but then again, we could all be right!
Having said that, Sony, don't abandon PC and please make sure 64x is there!

Second video "The Idea Realized" is now on web site. Similar to first video, but one clip features part of what look like an Izotope Harmonic Exciter screen. Also "Designed by Mac Users, For Mac Users"

There's also a funny easter egg, at 0:21 it says "no bias here" very shortly, most probably referring to peak...

I didn't notice that the first time around. That's brilliant!
Sneaky, Sneaky!
Anyone notice around 16 seconds the wave form sure looks like Sony's way of drawing wave forms and the view meters to the right look like Sony Mixing Console meters? Just using my eyes.

Looking good. I just hope some of that rethinking and reinventing works its way over to Sound Forge 11 for Windows, heh.

I'm with Atomic. I'm very scared that this means Windows development will be put on hold, much the way Adobe basically 86'ed progress on Audition for Windows when they came out with CS5.5.

We can only hope. Of course, I'm also very curious to see if it still feels like Sound Forge in the Mac OS.

Not directly relevant, but I am doing some work in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, and I am reminded why I HATE ADOBE!

It isn't showing on the website (probably won't until tomorrow). However, if you go the YouTube page, you'll see a fourth video available.

I don't think there's any denying now that this is, in fact, a launch site for Sound Forge: Mac Edition.

Seem like this whole schtick has already faded away...been like two weeks since that last clip appeared on the actual "finallyonthemac" site....

I would have thought these guys would have at least kept up with the actual clip promos to keep some kind of interest going...

Oh well....

There is a 4th video posted on Youtube, however you must login and subscribe to finallyonthemac to see it.

Understood...but I guess I am wondering why these guys would go to all trouble of getting a "secret" domain, sticking up a site, building a buncha hype, laying out the first few clips...and then...suddenly stop doing it.

Shouldn't the 4th clip actually be on the site? Instead of having to cruise to YouTube to see it? And how about the 5th one? It's been two weeks already....

Well, maybe somebody at SCS did some checking and realized that it's 2012 and not 1982. Macs are for grannies and people with money to waste on shiny aluminum/white things posing as computers.

It really makes no sense being on a mac these days. Not for a professional app.

I can still access the Youtube channel if I login.

Could it be that they are delaying the marketing program - IMO August might not be the best month to intro a new product.

They could've run into a serious problem with the beta testing and might need to hold off release... Maybe?

The 4th episode titled "audio editing redefined" is up on the web site - is this the episode everyone's talking about? If I do a search using the term 'finallyonthemac' on YouTube nothing appropriate comes up.

That program on finally on the mac is definitely a sony product.
The guy playing guitar in drop 2 is the same guy and same vid in the new Acid Music Studio 9 video.
So we all know Sony has something new for the Mac. How about PC?

PC version in the next version of Sound Forge Pro or not?

Of course there will be a new PC version. The question is: Will the license be cross-platform so I can upgrade from my Windows license?

I'm excited. I hate the audio editors on the Mac. Audition is clumsy. All the others just suck.
