With the exception of run-ins with BillyBoy years ago, the last ten years I've spent interacting with my friends here on the Vegas forum has been quite enjoyable and informative. Thank you all for putting up with me! :)
Always enjoyed your conversations with ole billy boy.... I know you probably didn't... but glad you are still here sharing your knowledge,
Happy 10 !! and hope you are still on the forum in the future
Congratulations John,
I'm about 9 months behind you. Hard to omprehend how much water was gone under the bridge.
A week ago I was going back over all the video I'd done with Vegas, man alive there's a lot of it. Then there's all the audio CDs and MP3s.....
I just hope Vegas is going to be around long enough for me to say I've been here 10 years and better yet, 20 years. The latter has more to do with some really old bearded guy than anyone's coding ability but I'm hopeful :)
Congratulations John, surviving 10 years of forum challenges! :)
Once or twice I thought BillyBoy pushed you to the edge of forum madness :-) but Billyboy pushed most people "buttons" with his personal attacks on Douglas. I think Billy enjoyed his bad behavior.
I think you have made the SCS Vegas forum a better "place".
It's always good to read your contributions John, including when you put Billy Boy back in his box.
I think, like me you started around Vegas 3 time, and I remember the amazement I felt at Vegas's silky fluidity after Premiere 6. That was with SD DV of course Thanks to a new PC this week, I've been having similar feelings with HD and V11. May everyone soon have the same experience.
Thanks John for your helpful posts!.
I am relatively new to the forum compared to most of you guys but i wanted to show some appreciation for the help you provide to me and others on the forum.
Cheers and congrats for your 10 years on the forum, long may it continue.
WOW!! Congrats on that (what is that in dog years) :-) I have been here for 4 years and have learned many great ways to edit in Vegas.
I was looking though some of my old software disks today and found my very first Vegas disk, Movie Studio Platinum 6. I am now on 11 for both packages. I started using Vegas in 2005 and have loved it ever since.
I hope to make it to my 10th perhaps I will have my original disk bronzed.. haaaa
Anyway thank you all for all the help over the years, and for your willingness to stay around for so long and help us rookies..
For you forum old-timers, I'm a bit curious. Have you ever seen so many negative posts regarding any another Sony product that compares to the number posted here about SVP v11?
My ten year anniversary was back in March. Vegas 10 had a rough start as well. Earlier versions of Vegas were extremely stable and that was notable because the competition all had terrible stability problems. Many of us "old timers" came to Vegas after leaving competing programs because of the terrible stability problems they all had. I know I left FCP 2 because it was an absolute dog compared to Vegas. That was Vegas 2. I've had every version since then. This time is different. It's about a year in and I still can't use the current version.

There were always complaints about Vegas releases that lasted until the bugs were ironed out by software updates and / or workarounds, but never the length and scope of the complaints about Vegas Pro 11. The software appears to be fundamentally flawed.
