Subject:ASIO Warning

Hi,
When I try to open Sound forge a warning pops up saying:

"CTASIO Warning
There are no creative audio products installed and running on the system that support ASIO"

Once I click OK (on the warning box) Sound forge opens fine and works fine.
I 'm using an M-Audio Delta Series Sound Card. Can anyone suggest anything that'll stop the warning box appearing every time I open Sound forge.

Kind Regards,

Stuart

Go to Preferences and change your audio device.

Hi Musicvid, thanks for your reply.
That was the first thing I checked before I posted.
The setting is correct and displays my sound card but still the warning pops up?

Then you may need to remove the drivers for a card that is no longer being used on your machine.

See if you can remove them using Add/Delete Programs. If not, you may need to boot in Safe Mode, and use Device Manager to remove the unused device.

Here's another discussion that may offer some help:

Best of luck.

Musicvid is correct.

The error you are seeing is reported by the ASIO driver, not Forge.

When Forge starts, it scans for and tests for the existence of the audio hardware. A well behaved ASIO driver should not display a message, but simply report then error to Forge. Forge the determines that the driver is not available.

To fix your problem, you must completely uninstall th Creative ASIO drivers. Of course Creative does not make this easy. It installs a self healing dll that runs at start up that will constantly replace the ASIO driver, even if you remove it correctly. You may want to contact Creative if you run into problems.

Go to your c:/windows/system32 folder and rename the ctasio64.dll file (I used ctasio64.dll.OLD). This will stop the error message.
