Subject:crackle and pop remedy

This may be a good one for the SF support guys to add to their bag of tricks. I've had considerable problems with an Audiophile causing crackle and pop in the recorded track (this is not a playback problem). Tried EVERYTHING and then discovered that there is a hardware acceleration setting in DirectX which can fix the problem. Go to Windows START and click RUN. Type in DXDIAG and click OK. Then click the SOUND tab. Move the "Hardware Sound Acceleration Level" pointer to Standard Acceleration (instead of full). Then click Exit. You might try backing it down further if it's already on Standard Acceleration. Hope this helps! |
