Checking in with good news

Well for all the bitchin' and moanin' I've done recently about all the crashes I've been experiencing, I thought it only fair to report on some good news. It's been several weeks since I even attempted to work on a real project in Vegas 11, but I did so this past weekend.

It was a relatively average project (I think I mentioned it in a previous post), a 5 minute music video that I used the multicamera feature for the first time, using 5 different camera angles synced to one soundtrack. After several practice runthroughs, I finally got the shots I wanted. And as I mentioned previously, I think one of the reasons there were no crashes during this part of the job was that in multicamera editing mode, all track and clip efx are turned off automatically.

But after that, I did add several more clips into the video, using fades, color correcting plugins, and some BCC 7 plugins as well. Not one single crash during the entire process. And I made sure I did a lot of tweaking with the plugins I was using. I was not using any NewBlue plugins, in fact I uninstalled them from my computer just to be safe. And I was running Vegas 11 in Windows 7 Compatibility mode.

As I also mentioned, I did have some problems getting a final render that didn't stutter (but there were no crashes or freezes during the rendering process), and I finally figured out the right parameters to use to create the HD 1080 60i render I wanted.

This wasn't a project for a professional client, it was more of a test to see if I could get through it without any problems, which I did. If you're interested you can see the final result here. It's an original song I wrote, performed, shot and edited all by my lonesome.

I know, I couldn't get the link code to work, you'll just have to copy and paste the URL.

Thanks John, that seemed to have done the trick. LOL! After trying all the various more complex codes, it was the simple one I didn't try that worked!

Stunning!

Heh, thanks Grazie, I don't know about stunning, but I thought it came out pretty well, especially for a one man operation.
