I need to trim and/or crop many files in the exact same places, but it appears that batch converter can only apply Direct X effects to groups of files. For example, is there any way to crop a group of .wav files starting at X:XX.XXX and ending at Y:YY.YYY time? That is, I need to remove a pre-defined area at both the beginning and end of many wave files. Joe /staticwhitesound |

Although I have never done it, there are 2 functions that you might try - both are available from within BC. Go to the Options menu in BC and pick Conversion Settings. Open up the little box labeled Class. Under Process, find Auto Trim/Crop at the top of the list. Play with the settings on that one and see if it will do what you want. The other one is under Class|Tools. It is called Auto Region. I haven't ever used either one, but, at first glance, they look like they might be what you're looking for. Good luck. I think he might be referring to Batch Converter 5, but even so I believe the auto trim/crop is in there |

Thanks for the reply. I'm using BC 5.0. There doesn't appear to be any settings for conversion other than sample rate and file format. I couldn't find any mention of Auto Region, although that sound like the process I need. Auto Crop/Trim will not work, as I need to specifically set the region for the crop. Are you refering to version BC 4.x? - Joe >>Go to the Options menu in BC and pick Conversion Settings. Open up the little box labeled Class. Under Process, find Auto Trim/Crop at the top of the list.
