Subject:Beeps, where are they coming from?

Hi!
In truth I've not used Acid Pro in a couple of years (I have version 7.0e) so I'm stumbling a bit remembering how to use it. However, when I press space to preview stuff I'm hearing a beep which changes tone with each preview. I do not think it is the metronome countdown (I think that's what it's called) because it only happens now and then but, as I can not seem to locate this option I can't be sure.

Can anyone please... a) point me to this option and, b) suggest what else this odd beep might be?

Thank you so much for any help!
Rusty

Might be a sound card (or sound device) issue. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed and try to play with the buffer and latency settings. You may be "hitting your device too fast" and exceeding it's natural latency resulting in some kind of digital noise when playback is started each time.

I'm not sure when they stopped, but i know older versions of SONY/SonicFoundry software often used intermittent beeps to limit the usefulness of the software when it was in unregistered/demo mode. I don't recall if this was still the case for version 7 or not. Perhaps your activation key got corrupted and you need to register it again.
