re text overlays Vegas3.0 vs Video Factory

Hi there,
I am presently trying to do a comparison between Vegas 3.0 beta and Video Factory 2.0 demo. Of course I realise that Vegas has a lot more flexibility and features than VF but one thing I have noticed is that if I want to overlay text on a video clip that it does not seem possible to make this text completely solid. But if I try the same procedure in Video Factory it is possible. As an example... in Video Factory I drag a video clip onto the timeline and then I drag the default sample text from the Text & Backdrops . The sample text is immediately solid i.e. This is fine because all I need to do then is to go into the video event properties for this sample text and then adjust the alfa percentage with the slider on the left which allows me to adjust the transparency of the text to my requirements. But when the alfa slider is at 100% the text is solid.Good. When I try the same procedure in Vegas 3.0... with the Alfa slider at 100% the text is still semi-transparent. I realise that in Vegas 3.0 there are also level controls in the timeline window but no matter what combination I use I cannot achieve this solid text effect. My question is why is it possible to achieve solid text overlays in Video Factory but not in Vegas 3.0? Admittedly I am new to both of these programmes so maybe I'm missing something. Any responses would be appreciated.
Many thanks

hmm. I'm not seeing this. Be sure to write to them at vegasbeta@sonicfoundry.com

This is likely some incorrect setting in Vegas 3. Try opening a new project, add a video event, and then a text event in the track above it. Text should be completely opaque. If not, save the project and send to "vegasbeta@sonicfoundry.com" and we'll see what's up.
