Subject:48/44.1 SRC ....

Hi, it's me. I use loops libraries in 44.1/16 and I record live and mix in 48/24 project settings. This means Acid Pro 7 is doing the SRC on the fly. Is it doing as good a job as Forge 10 pro? Should I convert the 44.1/16 in Forge before adding them to Acid? All of my music has less than 8 tracks and I have a power computer so I'm not worried about latency/speed. Output is mp3 but some ask me for higher quality wave files for "re-mastering" and DVD projects. Any thoughts on all this? I'm still learning. Brian www.JazzHouseBlues.com |

If output is MP3 the deletarious effects of MP3 encoding will 'render' any SRC effects totally insignificant. They are insignificant even in WAV output. Try doing some 'reference' projects each way, and audition each on a quality replay system, preferably at least 'semi-blind'. geoff . Message last edited on5/12/2012 7:43:04 PM byGeoff_Wood. |

@ ... Try doing some 'reference' projects each way ... I did and I can't tell the difference. But the problem is I'm a geezer and lucky to hear anything beyond 12K let alone 16K and my friends are the same way so it's no use asking them to listen. We all grew up listening to scratchy rock and roll played on warped turntables and thick needles. It sounded good to us then and it still does today. OK, I'm not going to worry about any of this until Ridley Scott wants me to score a movie for him. Brian |
