Subject:5.0e -still- has nasty crash bug. Are we ever going to fix this?

Recipe:

Open stereo file. Select part of it. Open Audio plugin chainer. Add a Waves plugin. Preview. During preview, right-click in the gray area above the "Create Undo" checkbox, and choose "Select All Data".

At this point, there is a very long hang that is usually accompanied by an exception error. SF4.5 never had this issue. Every 5.0 revision has had this issue, and I've reported it with every build. Can we ever fix this?

this is actually a Waves problem, or at least, it only happens with Waves plugins. I've tried to get this fixed for a while - it happens when you basically do ANYTHING while previewing in the Chainer: move plugins around, save preset, etc.

It's really annoying, but I don't think they have a solution for it. Bug Waves about it as well. :)

Here's why I don't think it's a Waves issue...

It doesn't happen in SF4.5. Some change in SF5 brought it on.

It doesn't happen in any other Sonic Foundry app's plugin bin, which are basically the same as SF5's.

Waves plugins work perfectly in every app... just not in SF5. What's different in SF5?

yeah, true. I wish this could get fixed.
