Subject:Error Message: A Necessary Com interface is not available

I get the above error message when trying to play a project in Acid Pro.

I recently upgraded from Acid 3 and project created in 3, were opened in Pro, where I continued to work on them for a while, saving each time. Suddenly I cannot open them.

What's the cure?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling ACID Pro.

If that doesn't work, try opening another ACID window and copy and paste the tracks of the project into the new window. (Use CTRL+A to select everything, CTRL+C to copy and CTRL+V to paste in the new window.) Note that you'll have to reset any effects you had in the previous project, so it'd be wise to note them.

Is this an error that comes up in Acid or is it a windows error?

It was an Acid Error. But I solved it by reinstalling the divx8 component. I must have managed to lose that upgrade when I reinstalled Windows ME to try and solve another problem. That happened to coincide with upgrading to Acid Pro.
