Subject:Does anyone use Acid to make mash ups? Beatmapper

I've used Acid Pro with Pre-made loops for several years (since V. 3)with excellant results. Using V.7 pro now. I've dabbled with beatmapper on and off, got frustrated and quit. My main goal now is to do mash-ups to see if I could do anything as good as, or close to "War Toad" by Robby Keiger, Doors. Killer song btw. I tried a tempo matching method because beatmapper just didn't work on this song or I still don't get beatmapper at all, and thought it was going to work. I put Harry Nillsson's "Jump Into The Fire," after tempo matching, into the chooper with the intention of slicing and dicing to use a few select clips from that song and another to start with and see what I come up with. But when I chop the clip to a new track I get off tempo issues. That's something I never ran into with pre- made tracks. Anyone have suggestions on making mash ups or using beatmapper? There is next to no help on beatmapper in depth. Just cursory help files that don't address what the intended purpose of it is. It sounds self exlanatory but it isn't to me anyway. Are there some files or songs that beatmapper just won't work on? Like songs that drift in tempo? I thought BM was suppose to fix that. What the heck is it for? Thanks, Todd |
