Does anyone know if ACID 3.0c supports the Ricoh MP7200A CD writer? When I record an entire project to CDR ACID records seemingly successfully, even though it shows the buffer hovering between 0% - 3% throughout recording, but the CD cannot be read by any CD reader or writer I have tried it in. Also, I am using ACID to create a mix of tracks. When I record will ACID record each track eith a marker and no gaps or will it just take the whole project as one "song"? |

I bet the reason why your buffer is so low is because not only is your system burning your project to CD (which takes a lot of system resources to begin with) but ACID is also doing "on-the-fly" processing and conversion as well, including the use of effects, etc.; your system is essentially doing two very taxing things at once. To reduce the overhead, try bouncing down the whole project to two or three tracks before burning. (Use CTRL+M on your keyboard with the desired tracks soloed.) The CD must be closed to be listened to in conventional CD players. ACID burns using "Track-at-Once," which is a method of adding a project track by track to a CD. I believe a 2-3 second gap is between each track as well. For more info, go here. HTH, Iacobus |

Thanks for taking the time to reply however I do not believe what you say to be the case. My CPU never goes above a few percent when recording and I have very few effects in my project. Furthermore, the option to close the CD is automatically set so the CDs I have burned using AM3 are definitely closed. How does AM3 deal with all the different types of CD writers. Mine is a pretty new model and I wonder whether or not AM3 is able to comminicate properly with it. |

It definitely sounds like a burning issue then, especially since you mentioned you've got it set so that the CD is closed after burning (and you still can't play it in a CD player). Did you try the latest firmware for your drive? NOTE: Opens a new window. The ubiquitous disclaimer: I will not be held responsible for anything that goes wrong while flashing the firmware to your drive. Iacobus |
