Silly ozz, ACID is so behind the times and it's being discontinued!

Great video, btw.

Try Reaper.. I loved Acid and still have a place for it, but its dead...

Reaper does all this and more, with lighter CPU and better MIDI..

I've been messing with REAPER, but to buckaroo and all of the fanboys of REAPER, I'd like to know a couple of things:

1. How can I draw velocity curves in the MIDI editor?
2. How do you extract a groove from a clip of audio like ACID does with the groove tool?
3. Is there a groove/feel tool like the groove paint too in ACID for manipulating a track?

Thx

Go over to the Reaper forum, drop the "fan boy" talk and ask your questions. You'll get more help and response there than most forums combined. Many of the forum members are actually involved in the development and evolution of Reaper which is a radical departure from SCS (and of course other DAW makers). In fact, Reaper actually got started as a direct result of the kind of dissatisfaction/frustration with Sony/SCS that is being discussed in this thread.

Thanks for the reply, but the forums over there are pretty evangelistic. It's one of the things that has turned me OFF of Reaper. They can't seem to admit that it isn't "all things to all people" so you can't get a real response. I thought I would do better here, but I guess not...

Exactly what I heard as its very close to Acid in the way it works, but the real benefit to me is that its Mac too!

I know there are alot of Fanboys, out there. I am a FAN, but by no means a fanboy, and yes it still hasn't got some of the things I'd like, but even being neutral, its like Acid on... well... Acid!!

It left Acid Pro behind years ago..

Ok. But these simple features seemed to be missing in Reaper:

1. How can I draw velocity curves in the MIDI editor?
2. How do you extract a groove from a clip of audio like ACID does with the groove tool?
3. Is there a groove/feel tool like the groove paint too in ACID for manipulating a track?

It's okay if they are...I just want to make sure I understand what I'm giving up.
