So i've got an mp3 track that I have used the vocal eraser on to mostly get rid of the lead vocals. This is because I want to record it myself. I then went into the record box and pressed record thinking that I would be able to hear the track play while I sing. For some reason I heard nothing, and i've been through all the settings to make sure that the right output device is selected (Realtek HD speakers) and that my mic is set up as the input device, but it's just not working. I've got another program called audacity that you can do record and playback at the same time but their vocal remover wasn't that great, hence why i bought this. Any ideas? |

SF is an editing and mastering app. and not designed for overdubbing and other 'multi-track' work. Acid, Vegas, Audacity, Reaper, PT's, Sonar, ect. are best suited for this type of work. SF Pro can however record and edit multiple channels, if your sound card has the inputs, but as I already stated, it doesn't do traditional overdubbing. ie; listing to previously recorded tracks whilst recording another. Amended: There are some work-rounds, but I've never tried them. Otherwise, if Audacity has the option, many multi-track DAWs allow the user to set the default audio file editor, so SF-AS could at least be semi-integrated in Audacity... if that's the case. Other than that, I could only suggest removing the vocal as best as possible in SF-AS, (YMMY) save the file, and open it in Audacity for overdubbing. Sorry, overdubbing may be an antiquated term these days. Message last edited on3/31/2012 3:41:47 PM byrraud. |
