i had a pc running Windows XP with Music Studio 7.0 loaded on it and it worked great. I got a new Windows 7 pc and loaded the Music Studio 7.0 onto it. The recording playbacks sounded garbled, warped, in and out of pitch, fading in and out -- totally unusable. Thinking the problem might have been that Music Studio 7.0 was not designed for Windows 7, I purchased the latest Music Studio 8.0 and loaded it on my new pc, and I got the same result. I am using the audio card that came with the new pc to interface with Music Studio 8.0 via a microphone plugged into the audio card's microphone jack. I've tried several preference settings with no positive change. Do I need more equipment to interface with the software (e.g. input preamp, etc.)? Thanks for the help. |

Have you tried to see if any updated drivers exist for the new system, primarily for audio and video? (Checking for drivers for other components never hurts any either.) Iacobus |

Yes. I have all the latest drivers. My new PC is equipped with an integral sound chip on the motherboard, a Realtek ALC887. I have seen a lot of complaints about on-board sound chips, not being the best choice for recording. Would an independent sound card give better results? Thanks for helping. |
