I just recently upgraded to Acid 7 on windows 7. All of the stuff I recorded on early versions have a clicking sound on playback. I've never had this problem before. So, I decided to install my old Acid on windows 7 and try them there. They are still clicking. I'm trying to figure out if this is a windows 7 issue and there is a fix or if this is a sound card issue or what?? Of course, I've written support two weeks ago and never heard back. All I know is I have a whole CD recorded that I can't work on because of this clicking just because my computer crashed and had to upgrade. ANYONE WITH ANY IDEAS, HELP PLEASE!!! Thank you in advance! |

Does the clicking occur only on playback? What about rendered projects? (Be sure to analyze these in an audio editor like Sound Forge so you can see the waveform.) Both video and audio drivers updated? Iacobus |

It sounds like the sample buffer on your sound card might be set too low but you didn't tell us anything about your hardware. It you are using ASIO drivers, raise your sample buffer size (Advanced button) and see if that helps. ~jr |

it seems to only happen on playback for things that i recorded on acid 3 earlier. but, i tried installing acid 3 back on my new computer and it happens there too. i just wrote support on my external sound card and they said it is a problem with acid software. i play music all the time through various programs and i don't have any problems. no problems with internet, youtube, etc. my external sound card is sound blaster xp pro 5.1. and i've watched the playback exactly at the point it clicks, play it back again and it doesn't click so it's definitely not on the actual recording. i haven't tried rendering it to an mp3 to see if puts the clicks in it. i would expect it wouldn't. it's just really distracting when i'm trying to record and playback. |

oh, i believe i did raise my sample buffer and disabled all other audio options on my computer. it still did it. the first thing i did was check to see if my drivers were all updated. this only started when i got my new computer and windows 7. i don't know if it's just a setting i have wrong or what. when i updated to acid pro 7 with my old computer running xp with an external sound card, i made sure that all of my old stuff recorded would play through it and everything was fine. when i downloaded on my brand new computer running 7, this happened. it must be that i have a setting wrong on my computer, nothing to do with my sound card, but i'm not computer savvy enough to figure out what it is!! thanks for your help! |

Go through your hardware and update anything that might need updating, including (but not limited to) your motherboard's chipset. Something is obviously not working in your new set up. Let us know if a render also includes the clicking. |
