Hey guys, I just upgrade my SF 8 to 10. Now I cannot highlight a part of the file with my mouse and scroll with my mouse wheel at the same time like I used to do on SF8. Does anyone have the same problem? |

Yes. They removed this feature in the SF 9/10 rewrite. I'm not sure why, but it's gone. It was one of the weird quirks I had to just get over when I switched to 10. Rob. |

Yes, in the SF 9/10 rewrite, we lost a few other useful features. |

Wow! This is something I use all the time! Why would they omit to include this useful and quicker feature in SF10? I just send a suggestion to Sony about this. Hopefully to see it on the next release or else I may have to go back to SF8 :(. Message last edited on3/23/2012 1:08:59 PM byJack from Multiview Inc.. |

Welcome to SF 10. I initially complained and made the same suggestions. They removed some stuff that seemed innocuous, but were vital to my workflow. I've since had to just adjust. I don't even notice that it's missing anymore. I completely agree that it was a time-saving feature. They fixed a few bugs in the updates they've done, but basically just said some of that stuff is gone forever. Personally I feel like too much attention was wasted on multi-channel editing (the big, "improvement" of SF 10) and I can't stand the new Event editing. I accidentally drag a highlighted region at least once an hour and it tries to make me do an Event edit. Have to cancel out and start my edit over again. Still, with all of it's faults, there is nothing better for the editing I do than Sound Forge. So, they've got me over the proverbial barrel. IMO, SF peaked at version 8. I'm just hoping SF 11 doesn't have more, "improvements," that take away more of my workflow. Rob. |

Well I thought the main purpose of SoundForge was editing. I don't really care about multi-channel on SF since this software was made primarily for master editing. All these little innocuous options in SF8 made what SoundForge is today. Taking them out rolls the software back in time in my opinion. Hopefully Sony is listening to his users and will incorporate the missing features that was once in SF8 on an update. |

Not to defend any of SCS's many boneheaded omissions or changes, but adding 'multi-channel' and polyfile editing was needed. It was not meant to do the same functions as PTs, Vegas or other multi-track applications. |

Oh ok. What does multi-channel do exactly? |

It lets you edit a file with more than two channels. You're not limited to just Left & Right. Interesting, i guess it never occurred to me to highlight and zoom at the same time. I never knew it could be done because i never thought to try it. |
