Hey guys,

I just upgraded to FS10 from 8. I have a problem. When I play the file and I put my cursor somewhere else in the file and I stop with the space bar I noticed that my cursor goes back to the old start time. This does not happen all the time but once every around 5 times. This did not happen with SF8. Do any of you have this problem?

There is an option in Preferences|General for this behaviour, or stopping at cursor position.

"Spacebar and F12 Play/Pause instead of Play/Stop"

Not sure in which version the default behaviour changed.

Thanks for the reply :). I tried that but this is not it. I know I need to keep it on Play/Stop but it just sometimes goes back to the old position instead of the new one where my cursor is now located. Strange. Does it do that on your side?

Also, are you able to highlight a part of an audio file and zoom in or out with the mouse wheel at the same time? I used to be able to do it on SF8 but it doesn't seem to work on SF10. It's a function that I use all the time :(.

I had this same problem too, but I can't remember how I fixed it. I know you want to make sure you have the, "Seek Cursor on Playback" option off (F key), but this has a different behavior than what you are describing. I'll keep tinkering and see if I can remember what I did to fix that.

I don't recall any kind of bug or many others having that issue, SF-8 or otherwise. As the others have stated, I would also assume "Seek Cursor on Playback" But since it's intermittent. I'm not sure.
Try disabling 'Snapping' in the 'Options' menu.
If that doesn't help, globally reset SF to it's default or re-install.

Ok Thanks Rob. It maybe because I am I'm doing this too fast but it wasn't an issue in SF8. I'll try to do this slowlier and see what happens.

Thanks rraud. Yeah those are the only 2 issues I have with SF10. I wonder if it's because I still have SF8 installed. How do you do a global reset?

Different installed versions of SF does not normally cause problems... as long as they're not open at the same time.
Reset all defaults: Hold Ctrl + Shift and launch the application. A dialog asks if you want to reset preferences. Check mark the box: "Delete all cached application data"
Click "Yes".
NOTE: This also resets all your customized preferences and settings to their default values.
