Solution: Check the input settings on the sound card's software mixer to ensure that only the input you wish to record from is selected as the input device. Make sure that you do not have the sound card's wave output (often listed as "Wave" or "Wave Audio", on some cards "What U Hear" or "Mixed Output") selected as an input device. This problem can also occur when you are recording from a microphone and it is picking up the output of the computer's speakers during recording. (You did not post your comps properties in original post). Is 'What you hear' available on all soundcards? The only soundcard I am familiar with is the SB Platinum.
